A classically trained pianist,
Stark incorporates his experience into his enchanting keyboard playing.
His beats are mesmerizing, diggable and danceable.
The entire album flows in
a way that makes it easy to get lost in the thumping, pulsating sound.
The appropriately titled opening track "Enlightenment" is like
an awakening of the mind to something profound.
"Bach 2001" is a
sample of the spacey work the track's namesake would probably be creating
if he weren't six feet down and pushing up daisies. The rapid beats are
bounce inducing.
"Mirage" is exotic,
a little erotic and utterly hypnotic. The beat is a dark, haunting and
enticing like siren's song.
Most of the tracks (see "Cosmic
Glitch", "SOL") have a creepy futuristic sound. It surrounds
you and is a little cold, but far from sterile.
One doesn't need to know how
to dance with glow sticks to appreciate Stark's work. It's pure and otherworldly.
Strobe light not included.
